I too have this problem. However, I have a condition called Dercum’s Disease, which is PAINFUL fatty tissue tumors. The tumors are benign and caused from an accumulation of fat because the body is unable to break it down. So my question is does this FAT DEPOSIT HURT? Also, you may research Lipidema (is painful to touch) and Lymphadema (can be painful but not always) which also causes an accumulation of fat deposits in the hips and legs.
As for what do you do? I would try Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which is a massage technique that must be done by a licensed therapist. My knee went down 3 inches and has stayed down for six months now. Hope this helps…
