Palms in the landscape need to be fertilized four times a year with a special palm fertilizer that contains additional Magnesium and a complete micro-nutrient amendment. The rates for Nitrogen and Potassium should be equivalent and some of the two should be in slow release form. Apply the fertilizer under the canopy by broadcasting or banding, but don’t place against the trunk where new emerging roots can be injured.
