I have always had super stretchy skin, I am 60 yrs old now and would like to have a tummy tuck. My muscles in my stomach are very tight and I don’t have any fat on my stomach but the skin is sagging some ! Would it be less expensive to just have the skin tightened as to a more extreme surgery of cutting muscles in the abdomen ?

If your skin is just loose, a non-invasive skin tightening treatment could help. However, if there is excess skin, the only way to correct that is with surgery. A consultation and exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon can help you understand your options. Non on-surgical treatment will ever give you the same outcome as a tummy tuck.

If your muscles are tight, then there is no need to tighten them further, and the abdominoplasty can be simplified by removing skin only. The recovery is much easier, because most of the difficulty in recovery is from the pain caused by the muscle tightening. The surgery should be moderately less expensive as well, but muscle repair is only a small part of procedure in terms of the surgical length of the procedure.

if you have an abundance of skin, most lokely you will need a tummy-tuck to address this. With very minimal skin excess, there are some nonsurgical procedures that can shrink and tighten the skin over several months time with multiple procedures sometimes needed. these less invasive procedures have less dramatic results, so proper expectations are a must. Discuss these options with your surgeon.
