Don’t Listen To Goldie Hawn

Choosing a plastic surgeon involves doing a lot of homework. Besides looking at his or her technical expertise and experience with the surgical or non-surgical procedure you desire, you’ll want a plastic surgeon whose aesthetic sense is similar to yours. Think of it this way: When you visit a museum with a friend, you don’t necessarily love the same artwork. She is a Picasso fan and you love Pissarro. Both artists may be brilliant, but you’d prefer to hang the work of one.

So consider your face and body a canvas on which the surgeon is going to create a work of art. You want a doctor who has a superb sense of proportion and shape, who won’t give you lips too big for your small narrow face or breasts too gigantic for your petite body. Also look for a doctor who has a sense of style similar to yours. Does he like subtle, natural looks or does everyone who walks out of his office remind you of Picasso’s exaggerated portrait, Young Girl?

When you make your round of one-on-one consults, remind yourself to take a look at how the doctor presents herself, as well as at her office environment. If you like both, chance are you’re on the same page. Of course, you won’t be basing your decision solely on a doctor’s attire or decor. Observing these details, however, should be part of your decision-making process.

And make absolutely certain to only choose an ASPS Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.

We’re showcasing the seven facelifts, seen below, for their natural results. Every single woman looks like herself, just a fresher version.

I have become a Skincare consultant for Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields. They are both Stanford trained Dermatologists in San Francisco Calif. They are the Creators of Proactive, and are known world wide. What they have done for proactive they are now “Redefining your skin.” These products have proven better results than injectables. I personally know a Plastic Surgeon who offers this product in their practice. Patients have noticed that they do not have to get injectables as often or Not at all. I can show you how to Redefine your skin. I invite you to take a look we will connect you with the right information and solutions for your specific skin concerns. Hello,

My question is regarding those Surgeons who have been selected and posted on the FOF website for Avon Representatives. I was wondering if FOF did any background investigation on each of the recommended Surgeons including, but not limited to, AMA sanctions, complaints by current or previous patients, law suits, poor BBB profile rating, or any negative action(s), work, procedures, or other potential problematic issues which would raise concern for potential surgery by those of us considering going under the knife?

    Thank-you,
    Pam

      Dear Pam,

FabOverFifty is one of the endorsed partners of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the premier society for Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. We had to go through a comprehensive process to receive this honor. The only surgeons on our site are Board Certified ASPS surgeons. The ASPS has stringent rules regarding the conduct and performance of its members. Regardless, each of us must do her own research when we are choosing a doctor.

I am, however, a bit confused why “Avon Representatives” is in your comment.

      Best,

      Hi Karen,

Besides looking for recommendations on our website, it is important to visit 2 or 3 doctors for one-on-one consultations. I also suggest that you read this interview with Dr. Roth, the former president of the American Society of Plastic Surgery about how to choose a surgeon. http://faboverfifty.com/plastic-surgeons/?p=351

I interviewed Dr. Roth and I know him, as well, and his advice is impeccable.

I’m in the process of considering plastic surgery. I’m looking for a physician who would do subtle plastic surgery. I would like to age gracefully. I don’t know who in the Boston area is reputable. Could you give me some guidance.
    Thanks,
    Connie
